Track 4 - Egypt Central merecia mais atencao

Uma das poucas bandas que me chamaram atencao ultimamente foi o Egypt Central. Um amigo passou uma mp3 dos caras e logo fiquei tentada a puxar o CD inteiro. E nao me arrependi!

A banda soh tem um CD com mesmo nome “Egypt Central”, e o motivo deles nao serem tao reconhecidos eh porque ele nao foi lancado oficialmente, parece que a beira de lancarem o ditto cujo a gravadora os largou :( Uma pena, pois eh realmente muito bom. Apesar disso os caras conseguiram reconhecimento e algumas de suas faixas apareceram ate em filmes, como a musica “Taking down” no filme The Cave, e “Over and Under” no filme The Condemned.

O estilo da banda eh meio dificil definer, parece meio new metal/screamo. O Wikipedia os descreve como post-hardcore/post-grunge e Alternative Metal. Guitarras bem trabalhadas, um vocal limpo que explode, ficando gritado nos momentos “punch” de cada musica, baixo e bateria em perfeita hamonia, eh isso que faz o Egypt Central. Destaque tambem para as letras que sempre expressam algum tipo de raiva, revolta, angustia e um sentimento de querer sair dessa “prisao”, do fundo do poco… Ou seja, perfeito para nos jovens revoltados-complexados XD~

Os highlights desse CD sao “Different” que alem de otima melodia tem um otimo refrao:
”That’s the price I pay for being different

I can call this life my own”

Over and Under, com as linhas “I’m over me being under you, I’m breaking free, I’m breaking through!”, You Make me Sick, Locked and Caged merecem atencao especial. Temos ate uma mais “calminha” com Home, violao baixo e voz - muito boa!
